Comparing the Best Social Network Software

There are numerous considerations that you need to take into account when you are trying to decide the best social network software for your needs. The options of programs that are available is quite extensive and if you have money to burn you can most certainly find a very expensive solution that will handle your needs. But if you are not made out of money and are not looking to spend $20,000 just for an initial set up then you are going to need to start comparing software that is the same price at a much lower level.

A software package that is only $20 is certainly not going to be as good as software that is $20,000 but the majority of people simply cannot afford to fork over the $20,000. Plus stop and consider how many people are really going to be using your site, if you are only looking at a few people then there is no reason at all why you should pay that much for the best social network software available, you are not going to need it. The majority of people are able to use software that is only in the $200-$400 range quite comfortably for a very large site. However, if you are only needing something for approximately 100 users or less you should typically stick to lower priced software packages.

The majority of all social networking programs will allow you the same standard features such as adding users, communicating with them and choosing who has access to what tools on the site. The best social network software will also give you additional features such as e-mail capabilities, message options, video and photo availability and so much more. Yet if you are working on building a very small site often the additional cost for those frills is unjustified.

However, imagine the outcry that would happen if MySpace stopped allowing users to share video and pictures. The number of users that they have would make it quite difficult to not offer those services without upsetting a large number of users. Yet the majority of users on very small sites do not expect these types of services. This comes back into the issue of how many users you plan to support realistically with your social network site. If you are planning on creating the best social network, you are going to need the best social network software possible. You simply could not operate a site that is the best using mediocre software.

The options that are available can seem very overwhelming, but by comparing all of the features that are listed with each potential program you can generally determine which is the best choice within your realistic budget. Remember, over paying for software is not a wise decision, you should purchase the best social network software that you can afford that will still fit into your needs and provide you with the basic services that you need. Consider for example, MySpace certainly did not start out by offering all of the features that they have today, and they most likely are not done adding features and tools either. Typically websites continue to grow and develop over time, this means you have the ability to later as your budget can allow add additional tools that your users will appreciate.

There are times when creating the perfect site using the best social network software means building your site a small piece at a time. There is nothing wrong with this method and most of the major websites are actually created this way. If you wait until the entire site is perfect, you are likely to never get it open. Bug testing alone can last for several months if not longer, however most users are willing to work around bugs as long as they know that active development is under way. Plus the best social network software will generally be very stable and have very few bugs making it perfect for a much faster launch.

Your dream site may not be what you initially start out with, but finding the best social network software that is within your budget is possible. You should be prepared to spend at least a week comparing all of the options within a price range that you feel comfortable paying. One consideration that you should always remember is you should never be forced to take out a second mortgage or even a loan in order to pay for the software that you want. If you cannot afford the software, find a cheaper version that will still provide you with the results you need. Pricing is a very important consideration when you are looking for the best social network software.

Best SEO Tips For Small Business

Search engine optimisation is something that all business owners with a website need to be aware of. If you’ve got a site and want to drive relevant traffic to that site, you need to know what to do to help the search engines get a good understanding of your business, so they can rank it for the terms you feel are most suitable for visitors. It’s not about tricking the search engines, or trying to boost traffic numbers in general. You need to see an increase in relevant traffic to you site (10 relevant visitors are far better than 1000 non relevant visitors, who leave your site straight away), and Google wants to provide searchers with a list of high quality sites, relevant to their search query.

1. Research your keywords: Make sure that you know what people type into Google and the other search engines when looking for your products or services. Research into how competitive these phrases are – are there any phrases that are relevant, but aren’t quite so competitive? These are more likely to give you the results you want. Also think about plurals and synonyms.

2. Make sure each single page on your site has a unique title tag. If you’ve done your keyword research, you should also aim to use keyword/phrases in the title tag too.

3. Additionally, make sure that all the meta descriptions for each page are unique too. Since the search engines mostly show the title and description of a page in the search results, make sure your descriptions correlates to your title, includes keywords, and has some kind of call to action that persuades the searcher to click on your link rather than the result above or below you.

4. Using your keywords and phrases, look at the headers within your pages. Headers tags are like the headlines of a newspaper – your H1 header should contain your primary keyphrases, with any H2 headers containing your secondary phrases.

5. Look at your copy- does this contain keyphrases? Make sure you don’t keyword stuff your copy though – aim for about a 3% ratio of keywords to copy. The content of your site should be written with your visitors in mind first, SEO second, so make sure it still makes sense and adds value.

6. Analyse your website structure. Do you have a lot of deep pages, hidden within subfolder after subfolder? Aim to keep the architecture of your site nice and flat – you don’t want to make it difficult for search engines or visitors to find content. Try and keep everything within two clicks of the homepage.

7. Going back to content – how fresh is the content on your site? Google and the other search engines love new and unique content. So try and update your website on a regular basis. This could be through a blog, press releases, or new product pages. Just keep it fresh – no one likes anything stale!

8. Linking…. oh linking, everyone is always going on about the number links to your site…why? Because it’s important! Each link is like a vote of confidence in your site, so the more you have (from reputable, high quality sites), the better. Building the number of quality links to your site takes time. Register with industry directories, local directories, become active in social media, make the most of social bookmarking, create amazing relevant content that people will want to link to, create articles and post them out to article sites, comment in forums… there’s so many activities you can do to increase the number of links to your site. It’s an investment – in time and sometimes money, but it’s worth it.

9. Register with Google Webmaster and submit your xml sitemap. This is an xml file includes all the pages of your website in a way that makes it easy for Google to reference and index. Google Webmaster will also tell you if there are any errors with your site, what some popular keywords are surrounding your site, some of the links pointing to your site and more.

10. Register with Google Analytics and start using it on a regular basis to monitor your site. Google Analytics is a free peice of software that enables you to track all the activity on your site. It’s actually a bit scary the amount of information it can give you. But for a small business owner, or marketing professional, it’s an invaluable tool that can help you improve your website performance and growth.

This is just the tip of the SEO iceberg – there’s so much to SEO and it’s constantly changing and evolving. At the end of the day though, it’s all about creating a quality website, adding regular quality content and being active in the world wide web. It’s not rocket science, but it does take time.

Have you been spending hours a day optimizing your website without getting anything close to the results you expected to achieve? I believe this is a challenge most SEOs have to meet in their daily activities. There are so many things to do that it seems you either have to turn down sleep or hire an SEO agency to do the job for you. Luckily there’s a more economic and humane option: you just need to get some good and Free SEO Tools that will help you optimize more efficiently.

The major part of a typical SEO workflow is made up of routine tasks that don’t normally require any critical thinking or analysis on your part. These are just monotonous repetitive operations that are much better done by software than people. To begin with, SEO involves a lot of monitoring: you need to keep track of your website’s rankings, keep an eye on your link popularity and so on. If you try and do it all by hand you’ll find that these routine SEO chores eat up most of your working time leaving only a slight portion of it for actual optimization.

Here are some of the SEO tasks that can be fully or partially automated with SEO tools:

- Keyword Research

Although you cannot rely on tools to do all of the keyword research for you can rely on them for delivering search stats and keyword suggestion. One of the most effective ways to do keyword research is to first try and make up a list of keywords you think your prospects might type into the search box when looking for your product or service. Then you can feed these keywords into a keyword suggestion tool such as Google Adwords Keywords Tool, Wordtracker, Keyword Discovery etc. to see how many people actually search for these keywords. The tools will also give you additional keyword suggestions you can use in your optimization campaign.

- Rank Tracking

This is the task you can fully outsource to SEO tools and be sure that the software will do it even better than you. You can check the results for accuracy every now and then if you wish but there’s certainly no need to run manual searches on Google trying to find your website for all your critical keywords.

- Link Building

Although you shouldn’t fall for completely automatic link building options because they don’t deliver any decent results and may even harm your rankings by linking to you from bad neighborhoods you can still get a lot of help from link building tools. They mainly assist you in keeping track of your links and checking if your link partners are linking back to you the ‘dofollow’ way and with the right anchor texts.

Here are Best SEO tools that will help you automate these routine tasks so that you have more time on actually optimizing your website, providing content and driving your business to success.

For last three weeks I have been firm at work exploring popular SEO guides that worked for small businesses. Unlike large competitors, small businesses do not have personnel or ad budgets to market in the present economy, but fortunately, none of these factors actually matter for online marketing because small business SEO is the best way to steal market share and of course to level the playing field.
After exploring the finest sources and communicating with popular SEO experts, I have realized that organic SEO is the best way to sustain a small but focused scope. The following is the list of 7 SEO Google tips that I found necessary for small businesses to generate results and I hope this list helps the new and inexperienced businesses that are looking for top SEO News.

Make a site that is easy to load: Now that Google has initiated speed into the search engine ranking algorithm, its time to make sure that your website is easy to load. By improving your website’s speed you also improve customer experience, which helps in converting your visitor into customer. Use tools such as YSlow or Web Page Analyzer to check out the problem behind slow speed. Make a site that is SEO Google friendly and easy to load so that you do not make users wait to purchase your products.
Optimize for local search: Going local is the most beneficial technique for small business enterprises. Around 70% local consumers use Google SEO local listings to search information about the nearby companies. Verify your business on the local listings such as Yahoo Local, Bing Local or Google Places to get maximum benefits.
Connect with the customer by adding personal touch to your site: The major advantage that small businesses have is chance to connect with the customers by adding a personal voice. By making your voice heard you are not just adding trust but also showcasing your authority in the market. Add recommendations and reviews along with product features and how your services can benefit the customers.
Give importance to content: Content has always been the king for the search engines and it still is. Search engines not just give more importance to unique SEO friendly content, but, the better opportunities are given to users to find your products and services. Explain everything – services you provide, the benefit customers can get, feedback, improvements, everything that makes it easy for the customers to build trust.
Filter your internal links: Make sure that your navigation scheme is getting all of your content. Internal links not just add value to your website but also make customers and search engines happy. Develop a linking mindset, think professionally about your website’s linking architecture or use sites like CopyBlogger to refer older posts in your articles. You may also add sitemaps, older posts and related products so that your old but informative content is seen or linked to.
Don’t fuss about receiving no-follow links: Do not get carried away solely by trying to get incoming links lacking dreaded no-follow. You cannot manage how search engines act. Providing better services and customer satisfaction is your SEO guide. If you focus on good content, search engines will focus on various aspects of SEO by themselves. Better content attracts better links and it is good for both SEO and customers at the same time.
Create content for people not only for search engines: If your sole purpose to create the content is to impress the search engines, you are missing on all your business profits. As per the Google SEO guide, creating a user friendly content can help you more as compared to just creating content for search engines. A user visits your website to see how your services can benefit him, but when he comes to your site and finds a content that is confusing; he may leave and might not come back. If you want more inbound links and business profits, make sure to write for the customers because no matter how important search engines are, they cannot avail your services!

To promote your business online and increase sales, using pay per click advertising is a powerful channel. However, this method is not suitable for everyone. You may wonder how to decide if pay per click advertising services can help boost your business.

A simple way to tell is by examining the profitability of your pay per click keywords. With that, you can easily determine for yourself whether you can benefit from PPC advertising.

However if you have new to pay per click program, you may not be familiar with keywords and their role in ppc.

In all PPC advertising, all ads you place are related to some keywords. Not only are they used to match with the keywords in various online websites that are participating to display your ads, they also determine the amount of advertising costs that you will pay.

If you want your ads are seen by the right people, there are a couple of important factors to consider during your keyword selection for your pay per click ads.

1) Relevancy of your keywords
The keywords you choose should be related to your products or services that you are promoting.

2) Popularity of your keywords
It is wise to choose keywords that are being actively sought in the search engines.

Once you have determined which keywords to use, the next step is for you to go to http://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal and determine how much you are expected to pay for your chosen keyword.

The next step in determining if it is profitable to continue with your ppc campaign, do take a moment and look at what are you selling. Subtract from your product selling price the estimated keyword cost that you were given. Decide whether it is still a positive gain for you.

The above formula is a simple way to calculate the return on a pay per click advertising campaign. On top of that, there are some additional factors that need to be factored in. For example

1) The cost per click can vary from time to time.
2) Not all the clicks result in a sale.

So for a more accurate estimate of profitability, you should factor in those two factors and you will have a better estimate of your return on investment of your participation in a pay per click program.

In summary, you can determine whether pay per click advertising is for you by simply estimating the amount of money you have to pay for PPC advertising and its returns.

Best internet Marketing Strategy

Let me shatter you illusions! There is no one best internet marketing strategy! A good internet marketing strategy is always to diversify. Those who put all their eggs in one basket will in time run into problems as the internet and especially internet marking is evolving almost on a daily basis. So I can’t give you the best internet marketing strategy but I can give you one method that will start increasing your traffic and sales from today.

If your website lacks traffic and does not generate any sales if you follow my brief guide below I guarantee you will see results. I will prove this at the end of the article. The strategy we are going to use is Article Marketing.

Article Marketing is the technique of writing articles about either your website or the products you are selling to entice people to visit your site and by doing so buy your products. Follow my 60 day plan below and you will get results. All you have to do is write 3 300 to 400 word articles a day about your website or product.  Use Google adwords to find keywords that are at least 4 words long that relate to your website / product. If for example you are selling a chicken coop building plan looks for keywords such as “build your own chicken coop”. Using Google adwords you will find plenty of variants.

Everyday write 3 articles on a different key phrase you have found using adwords. Use a quality article site such as this and never skip a day. Make sure you include a link to your website in the resource box of every article. After 60 days you will have submitted 180 articles. If 50% of these simple generate 1 visit a day then that is 90 visits a day for you website. If one or two of your articles become very popular you could be getting 100s of visitors a day.

I will tell you now that most people fail with this method simply because they get bored after a week or so. Stick with it and the rewards are there for the taking! The proof of this method is simply you reading this article. I bet you are even tempted now to click the links in my resource box?
